Raw Feeding ~ Menu

So..what do you feed dogs on the Raw Diet?

Mostly it is Raw Meaty Bones. You can also add some minces. Offal is very important, this needs to be 10% of your dogs diet, with 5% of it being liver. I use kidney for the other 5%. Try to include as much variety as possible - you can feed any meat you can get hold of. My dogs tend to get chicken, duck and beef organs, because it's all I can get hold of. Fish is great to include too, I choose sardines, feed fish a few times a week. (If your dog won't eat it or you can't source it - use fish oil instead) Freeze fish, especially Salmon, for 48 hours prior to feeding to kill any parasites. Eggs are another fantastic source of nutrients for your dog. Again, several times a week, give these to your dog, shell and all! Adding vegetables very much comes down to personal preference. Some chose to, others don't. I do give my dogs vegetables, although only as 10% of their diet. You will need to pulp/mash/cook before feeding, as dogs can't break down the cellouse. You can add table scraps: as long as they are not salty, sweet or sugary. Avoid anything poisonous. Other things you can add are goats milk, yogurt and supplements (these are optional. Common choices include Vitamin C, Kelp, Herbs & more, so research and work out what might benefit your particular dog) Depending on what you can get hold of, what your dog likes, you can tailor the diet just to suit them, one of the super things about Raw.

I find Raw can sound so complicated...but in all honesty is actually rather easy and just becomes second nature to you :)
